Scott is in my Acting Class. On the first day, I walked in and saw people dancing. I thought I was late! I looked at the other people, and they said the same thing. Scott was very friendly, and he introduced himself. On the first day, I asked the teacher if he was going to make all the girls Sandra Bullock and all the guys Brad Pitt? We all laughed! Scott called me Sandra Bullock, and I called him Brad Pitt! SMILE! I get better and better with each interview. I asked many questions because he has a lot of talent! His answers remind me of Mo'Nique from The Mo'Nique Show, BET, especially the Q and A, "What advice would you give future singers?"
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: I love your page. Who is the designer?
SCOTT: I designed it myself over a long period of time, definitely not overnight!
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: Do you feel education is the key out of poverty?
SCOTT: Yes and no. Education is good, but you have to learn the right stuff. Most schools teach English, science, music, math, and computers, but they do not teach people how money works or how to run their own businesses. I can say that being financially illiterate has really hurt me. I've recently made a decision to learn everything I can about how money works because being highly skilled is not enough to avoid poverty. You can have a college degree and be very talented in music or some other skill. However, if you can't manage money, it doesn't matter one bit. If you spend more than you make, you'll be poor. How many people know how to take $100 and turn it into $1,000? I don't know anyone like that, but I do know a lot of people who know hot to get into debt $1,000 with one swipe of a credit card. I'd rather be in the first category.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: What education do you have?
SCOTT: I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music (emphasis in Composition and Theory) with a minor in Business Management. I also have a Level 1 Apple Pro Certification in Logic Pro for producing music and professional sound tracks.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: How has education made your life better?
SCOTT: It has enabled me to do things I enjoy. I love learning, and I love doing a variety of things. However, as I hinted at earlier, I am at a point in my life where I see a huge need to improve my understanding of money and business. My current skill set only helps me in a job setting, not when it comes to running my own business. I want to learn more about accounting, investing, finance, and so on.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: How long have you been singing?
SCOTT: I have been singing since the 8th grade, which would be about 15 years.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: How long have you been acting?
SCOTT: Acting is a newer venture for me. Aside from a drama class in 7th grade, I haven't done much acting until the past couple of years, when I started doing background work and stand-in on some of the films shot around here.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: What movies/plays have you graced the scene?
SCOTT: I've been in The lost Room, Sunshine Cleaning, Breaking Bad, Myth UFO (a German documentary), and I did some stand-in work on The Spirit. Most of these were background rolls--nothing big... Yet!
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: How did you get on iTunes?
SCOTT: I use a digital distributor called Tunecore. They put my music into all the major online retail stores for me.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: What advice would you give future singers?
SCOTT: Unless you plan to win American Idol, then learn some business skills! Learn how to market yourself, manage money, and how to be your own business. I am wishing that I had focused more on learning these things a lot sooner.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: Have you had any legal problems with singing?
SCOTT: Not yet, and I don't plan to!
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: Who is your favorite singer?
SCOTT: Probably, my friend Andy Cook. He is not famous, nor is he actively pursuing a music career, which is a shame. (There is actually another artist out there named Andy Cook, but that's a different person.) The Andy Cook I know can write and sing like you wouldn't believe.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: What is your favorite song of all the music you have done?
SCOTT: Honestly, I have yet to write a song that I am truly satisfied with. (I am my own worst critic.) But, if I had to pick one, it would be a song called One Request. I have yet to record it, and for reasons I can't go into here, it may never see the light of day. It's kind of a private song that means a lot to me.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: What is your favorite kind of music?
SCOTT: As long as there is variety, I love virtually all types of music. But, I am definitely partial to orchestra music, especially cinematic film scores.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: Who is your favorite artist?
SCOTT: Some other artists I like include Evanescence, Steven Curtis Chapman, Sara Bareilles, and Regina Spektor. And, let's not forget all the major classical composers.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: When did you know singing and acting was for you?
SCOTT: I knew singing and acting was for me pretty much from the moment I started. SMILE!
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: Who is the person or group that you dream of doing a duet with live in concert?
SCOTT: I wouldn't mind performing with Regina Spektor or Sara Bareilles.
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: Can I get 1/2 price if you sing at my future billion-dollar fairy tale wedding one day?
SCOTT: Maybe we can work something out! SMILE!
SPANISH-AMIGA$$: Your web site says you are also a computer programmer. What is your favorite program you have written?
SCOTT: Humm... I have a jQuery plug-in called "toChecklist" that basically converts a standard "select" menu (as we call it) into a checklist, so web developers can make it easier for users to select multiple items in a form. SCOTT: My own! I hope to be my own boss long term, but, we'll see what happens.

WEDDING SOUP
Today for lunch, I had wedding soup. I saw it in the grocery store, so I bought it. There were white balls in it. I said they were the wedding bells! SMILE.
I listened to Luther Vandross wedding music this morning before work. The day was great!!! I plan to buy his CD for my future wedding! RIP Luther. I love you. Your music is still powerful and will live forever!
I will get the name of the wedding soup next can I buy!

REAL WEDDING VS BILLION DOLLAR FAIRY TALE WEDDING
In my real wedding ONE DAY, it will cost $2k. My $1k will pay for all the food. His $1k will pay for my dress, his tuxedo, the wedding license, hair for men and women, the rings, accessories, music, flowers, Preacher, etc. I have a new car. We won't need a limo!
In my billion dollar fairy tale wedding, I am getting married on a cruise ship with 30 bridesmaids and one million real flowers and roses. The wedding will be 50/50. My husband and I will pay for all our guests expenses! The honeymoon is three months! My C & J 479 Electronic Publishing Class has this blog as a project and a web page. 12789 Basic Acting
I love my basic acting class. For the final class, in two weeks, I've got to learn my monologue fast! I picked mine because I can relate to the story. I need to type my ENTERTAINMENT RESUME because I have about five things to put on it! SMILE! Guess what? My acting teacher gave us a copy of his resume! I told him I want him to be on my future TV show. I will be calling his agent! SMILE. Dream big because dreaming is STILL free. Spanish-Amiga$$
I DON'T BELIEVE IT!
I went to the Thrift Store today, and I found what I was looking for at the first Thrift Store I visited. I didn't have to ride all over town looking for clothes that leave something to the imagination. I am happy!
